Mom is actually looking up if there is internet acess on the train as I type this.
There is not. Boo.
Ah well, Maybe I can type up everything I need to do offline and get that all done so that all I’ll have to do is put it all on. Le sigh.
I also need to load Photoshop back on my computer before we leave. Though I might wait until the day we leave so the trial will last. Though Mom wants me to get the pictures of the tree off my camera and as jpegs so she can show her friends. I need to make gingerbread….maybe. I’m debating. BAH!
I have to admit; I love reality shows. I have no idea why but I really do.
My favorites are America’s Next Top Model (whose isn’t?!) and all the VH1 so-&-so of Love shows. Especially Rock of Love and then of course Rock of Love Charm School. I loved Sharon as the host and Riki is just awesome (I seriously think he was one of the few reasons I gave Daisy of Love more than a five minute chance).
The new season of Charm School has started and not only is VH1 combining Rock of Love girls with Real Chance of Love girls (which is quite interesting) there is also a new headmistress; the one and only Ricki Lake. Though I was too young to actually watch the Ricki Lake show, what 90’s child didn’t grow up with the image of her? If you’re like me, then most of you may remember her the way she looked on the show or in the 1988 version of Hairspray (yes, my teenage kiddies [or maybe even the ones who never cared enough to know] Hairspray is nothing new).
Well, you can imagine my shock when I saw her step out of the Charm School house looking nothing like the way I remembered her. She looks amazing!
Even more so when I realized how much weight she had gained and lost once out of the public eye. She went from 250 pounds to 123, A size 24 to a size 4 and all without surgery or extreme crash diets! As a person with a triple digit weight loss goal, this is so utterly inspirational. Add in the fact that her come back is hosting a show where she helps women to reshape their lives and she gets double points (you can claim that the show is bunk all you want but from watching all three season of Rock of Love as well as Rock of Love: Charm School I’ve seen some of the girls fully change. Namely Destiny and Brandi; I couldn’t stand Destiny in Rock of Love, she was caddy, annoying and manipulative but on Charm School I really grew to love her and you can definitely she a change in her attitude. With Brandi [the winner of Charm School, by the way] all you have to do is watch one clip of her from Rock of Love versus the Charm School reunion and, well, enough said).
VH1’s TheFabLife.com has a page dedicated to celebrity makeovers where you can vote on whether they are “fab” or “fail”. There is a page for Ricki where they have more (and better) before and afters if you want to take a look (and vote).
Now I’m off to Hobby Lobby to buy fabric for the liner of my bag!
I’ll share pictures once it’s done. I’m so excited!
